Wildflowers were in bloom during our July Tour du Mont Blanc trek.

After two relaxing nights in the resort village of Champex, Switzerland, we were anxious to tackle the homestretch of the Tour du Mont Blanc.

A July trek along Europe’s Tour du Mont Blanc found us picnicking in some pretty spectacular settings. The Col Ferret, a climb up to 8,169 feet, forms border between Italy and Switzerland, and provides a spot for a well deserved rest.

Light and shadow create a beautiful contrast along the Tour du Mont Blanc.

Most of the cattle ignored us, used to the steady stream of trekkers along the trail. One curious cow posed for a snapshot as we traversed the hillside.
