Sharing the beauty of our world

U.S. National Parks

Native grasses provide spring color, contrasting with the red rocks of Arizona’s Grand Canyon.

The Fairy Duster (Calliandra eriophylla) is a low spreading shrub, commonly found in the deserts and arid grasslands of the southwest.

For twenty years Yosemite National Park was a short drive from my home.  Having this natural wonder in my own “backyard” allowed our family to explore the park throughout all four seasons.  Who could ever tire of scenes like this one?

We arrived from Montana via the North Entrance, spending just one beautiful spring day in Yellowstone.  The weather was perfect, the wildlife was plentiful and crowds were scarce.

In an otherwise barren Texas landscape, the Guadalupe Mountains command attention.

Be sure to put aside some time to enjoy Crater Lake from the  back deck of the lodge.  It is the perfect spot to relax after a busy day of exploration.  Grab a rocking chair and your favorite beverage while you drink in the view.
