According to the Oregon Encyclopedia, Oregon produces about 800 million pears annually, almost 300 pears per person.  This one dangled above the city sidewalk along my walking route.

A day hike along the Pacific Crest Trail crossed a meadow of wildflowers and past a weathered trail marker, eventually leading to Little Hyatt Lake reservoir.

The endless motion of gentle waves continually washes stones ashore at Lake of the Woods, creating a peaceful spot to enjoy a summer day.
