It is said that Julia Child loved the butter gold color of her namesake rose. This one was in full bloom in Oregon’s Shore Acres State Park rose garden.

The Mary D. Hume, built in 1881, served 97 years, winning the title of longest serving vessel in the Pacific, a record that still stands today. Placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979, she quietly lives out her life in the harbor at Gold Beach, Oregon, not far from where she was built.
Cannon Beach, on the north coast of Oregon, is known for the large rocks scattered off the shore.
These will always be California Poppies…even when they bloom in Oregon.
